Pigpen thoughts

Burton Rascoe, journalist, editor and critic, once said, “... a writer is working when he's staring out of the window." (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Burton_Rascoe)

In a similar way, an engineer is working when he is smoking somewhere, away from his workstation. In fact, many times, it goes this way: You spend hours trying to solve a design or a construction problem unsuccessfully so you go out to smoke. Midway through your cig, a solution suddenly pops up.

The managers of the construction site where I work do not see it that way unfortunately. They have put up smoking areas which are not conducive to work. In fact the designated smoking areas look like kural ng baboy (pigpen). Tsk tsk tsk.

Warning: Smoking may be hazardous to your health.
